See you laters and changing times

I lost count with how many goodbye/see -you-laters we've had over the last couple of weeks thanks to moving. Last night's was the biggest and hardest and we just had the final one this morning. What a blessing!

My hubby is doing a couple of finalizations and I am in the car waiting for him and am writing. I steal time to write whenever possible and this is no exception. I should work on my novel, but journaling and remembering the present is critical as well.

Driving around Omaha this morning has been interesting as I realize how this is the last time I'll see... fill in the blank... There have been so many memories made here. Omaha, all the people and places are permanent parts of my life now.

A new chapter has started.

I can't wait to see what the Lord has in mind for us. That's the exciting part.

Gotta love technology

Over the last hour, I've been able to text with four people and talk with four over the phone... people in Nebraska, Nevada, and Colorado.

I am so grateful for the ability and the opportunity.

The latest

Yesterday the movers packed my life into a truck (and drove away) and the day before, they put it into cardboard boxes. Today, the house is being cleaned.

It is rather humbling to think everything representing your life could be taken to the dump when it is all said and done. I don't know about you, but that sure gets my attention and makes me think.

The only way to make you life and count is to leave a good mark on all the lives you come across in your life. It's living a true life of faith, and not the lip-service faith that ensures even if all your stuff is lost, your life has meant something. Fight the good faith.

funnel cloud

So, last night was my first time of seeing a real-life funnel cloud. It was about half a mile wide and was only a couple of miles from our house. Wow! It was rather unnerving then, but I find it fascinating today.
 
Side-Note: I'm writing fantasy and weather tends to be an extra character in those books. Well, I have plenty to write about now!

Life is full of surprise blessings

How often do we get so busy that we forget to stop... look around... breathe... and see what's going on around us?
How often do we miss the surprise blessings that are surrounding us?
The reality is that life is full of blessings. We rarely anticipate them and that makes them wonderful surprises. However, how many times do we miss them? How often are we so caught up in the busyness of life--that we miss our on living--and on the surprise blessings?
Just a thought to ponder.

Ugh! Shoot me now!

Yes. I'm being dramatic.
 
Why is it that when you're feeling blue, every single sad, slow song that comes on the radio will apply to that situation--and rip your heart out? I shake my head and laugh. The worst part is that I keep listening. (Lord, help me! Lol.)
 
Tell me I'm not the only one who has experienced this.

Ephesians 3:14-21

A Prayer for the Ephesians
 14 For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom every family[a] in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. Surprise reactions lead to other things

I find it interesting how some pieces of news can hit us harder than others.
 
And, have you noticed that the news, even if you were expecting it, can hit you in ways you don't anticipate and in ways that often don't make sense?
 
Tell me it's not just me.
 
I also pray that I'm making sense.
 
I received news a little bit ago that has my head spinning. I'm listening to country on full blast (for me--which is actually quite quiet) and I've danced around to a few songs in an effort to blow off some steam, get some exercise, and recollect my mind so I can get some more writing done. But, it's been to no avail. I'm still spinning from the news. My foot might be tapping, but I'm still trying to process what I've learned.
 
I don't know if it's magnified because my husband's been out of town, the process of moving (and so much to do), the realizing of all the goodbyes and see-you-laters I'm going to have to make... Great. here come the tears. Maybe this is the real issue.
 
I don't want to go... But, I can't wait for the new leg of the journey at the same time.
 
I guess I'm all mixed up inside.
 
Sigh.

What I love about moving

I love parts of moving:
~ Throwing stuff away
~ Decluttering my life--literally and figuratively
~ Organizing my life--literally and figuratively
~ Rethinking my stuff and how to place it in my new home
~ Finding stuff of old memories and remembering when
~ Making new memories with my best friend and spouse
~ Seeing what God has in mind for my life there
It's the getting rid of stuff here and even as I move in that I really enjoy. It's so freeing!

Moving, Sick, and Other News

I realize I've been quite quiet since I got back form Colorado. I WILL write about the writers conference... I will share my new writing vision... In time...
 
My time is not my own at the moment with preparing to move across the country--and all of the stresses that brings... Packing, moving, unpacking... then, I went and got a sinus infection this week. (What was I thinking?)
 
But, I  have locked myself up each day to do some packing--but mostly a lot of writing.
 
In August, I will commit to blogging again. I promise! Along with twitter and Facebook!
 
But for now... Know that I'm working on closing this chapter and am looking forward to a new chapter. In my heart and in my writing.

Writing Goals

I've decided to get my writing goals written so that I can hold myself accountable--and so you can hold me accountable as well.
~ 1 To write Book 1 of, "A Life of Seasons Series" between 31 May and 24 June 2011.
~ 2 To write at least 6 books in the next year, but preferably 8. From 01 August 2011 to 01 August 2012.
~ 3 To publish at least 5 of those books in the next year.

Thoughts on Moving: A New Beginning

In less than a month now, we'll move from Omaha to the East Coast.
 
It's weird for me to type that sentence.
 
This is the forth move we'll make in two years.
 
So, how do I deal with this?
 
I find that I am quite passionate about new beginnings. It's a clean slate that I can do anything with I choose. I can let it make me a better person--or I can let it destroy or frustrate me. I choose the first.
 
Another new beginning awaits me. There's great excitement there.
 
It's the moving part that can be--more challenging. Moving our stuff and setting it up in a new space, sight unseen, by the way, can be a little intimidating. But, it can also be part of the excitement and that's what I do my best to choose every time Is tart to fret over the process.
 
A new beginning--in a new state--with a clean slate--waiting for the pages to be written. That's pretty neat. What a blessing.

Novel in 24 days

Well... As if I wasn't busy enough... I've decided to be completely insane. Then again, what else is new?
 
On top of preparing to move, I've decided to see if I can start and finish a novel between 31 May and 24 June 2011.
 
So far, I have 13,000 words... We shall see.
